We have babies, though. Just not the kind we're anxious for right now. We've been playing classical music in the barn and we have a bumper crop of chicks. (we have decided that classical music soothes the animals and causes more hens to roost). There are these 5 chicks, a hen sitting on another dozen in the fertilizer spreader at this moment, 4 "teenagers" and 5 "young adults" of which 4 just had to be roosters. There were 8 more from a different hen but she was such a terrible mother Red Tail hawks got them all. |
