August 10, 2008I found this nest in one of our trees. The babies just looked at me while I took their picture. They look like Doves. |

We have 2 maple trees that are about at the end of their lives. According to the tree expert I consulted, they are not native to this part of Texas and therefore do poorly in the supper and live about 25-30 years. I think this tree is 24 years. They're trimming out the dead branches to prolong it's life. There was another tree about the same size on the other side of the yard that had to go because it was already almost dead. It left a big hole in the yard and in our lives. |

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
