Circle E Ranch Blog Page

deep in the heart of the great state of Texas

August 31, 2005

Here's Comet, who lives next door. She's just finished a training lesson and Pancho is making sure she's getting a drink. He's also wetting her down to wash off the salt and sweat as well as cooling her off.

It's hotter than hell today. Everyone else is standing in the shade cast by the round pen and Leo is sunning himself, apparently oblivious to the hot, hot, hot sun.

Two hens are fighting over the eggs in this laying box. The brown hen finally pushed out the one in the back.
Here's another hen in a different spot - she layed eggs on top of some towels so I took out the towels and put the eggs in this laying box. She is fiercely protecting her new baby.

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals, Norma Epstein. I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera. I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
