August 5, 2007We've finally gotten to the lazy days of summer. It's in the 90's and we haven't had rain for 4 days or so. This is the first time since we've lived here that we have green grass in August and it's a nice change. The horses are eating their dinner. Each horse has his or her own pile of hay. They fight if they eat from the same pile although they are constantly moving from pile to pile to make sure no one is getting something better than they are. This is Katy (left) and Blondie (right). Blondie is as big as her mother and she just turned a year old May 1. Blondie is one of the sweetest horses you could ask for. She's very curious and has never offered to kick nor has she flattened her ears (when they flatten their ears back against their head it means "watch out, I'm going to either kick or bite you") |

Leo is taking a long drink (it's 94 degrees outside). His face is scarred from his accident 2 1/2 years ago and his tongue hangs out a little (he ripped off the right side of his face and severed his jugular vein) but he's doing fine. He's figured out how to eat and drink even though he has no practical use of the right side of his face. |

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
