February 19 , 2006We've gone from 80 degrees to 27 degrees in 3 days! Yesterday never got above freezing and we had a light mist last night so everything is covered with a coat of ice. It is supposed to be 40 degrees today. The poor trees and flowers don't know what to do - Spring weather one day and ice the next! Kit is due to foal in 2 months and she's starting to show. This is her first baby |

Katy is due one month later because she didn't take on the first breeding. She must be starting to feel uncomfortable because she's grouchy (see next picture) |

Ears flat against the head is not a good sign on a horse. It means, "I'm warning you, back off!!" If you persist, you are either going to get a good bite or a painful kick. I was trying to pet her and she didn't want to be touched. She still has to test to see who's top mare. Every once in a while, she forgets there is only one top mare at this place, and that mare has 2 legs, not 4! |

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
