January 19, 2005What a difference! Last week Dr. Beam tried skin grafts to give some relief to the pulling on his eye and sliced the skin just below the eye to release the tight skin. The dark spots in the wound are the skin grafts and the spots on his neck are where the grafts were taken. His neck wound and face are healing very nicely. It looks like Leo will be pretty again. It doesn't matter, anyway -- he's alive that that is all that counts. Dr. Beam at Alvarado Veterinary Clinic in Alvarado, Texas is my hero. He's not afraid to try unusual treatments and has done wonders with Leo. Click here to see pictures from the night of the accident. (Warning - they are graphic and may cause bad dreams)

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I try to take pictures daily and update the site by 5:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time, but it usually gets done sometime later.
