deep in the heart of the great state of Texas

July 15, 2006

ooooohhhhhh - scratch my back! (notice the upper lip sticking out - that's how you know you have her sweet spot)

We discovered what happened to Leo. It seems that there's something called Pigeon Fever which has popped up in Texas. It causes abscesses to form in the chest area of the horse causing it to swell resembling the chest of a pigeon, thus the name. A neighbor's horse had the same symptoms last week as Leo and the treatment was exactly the same. As you can see, he's fine - his only problem now is that it's 104 degrees and hotter than hell.

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals, Norma Epstein. I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera. I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
