We finally found out what was wrong with Leo. We took him to the vet again and had x-rays and ultrasound done and found 2 huge absesses deep in his chest. No one could explain how he got them - the only explanation is "sometimes things just happen". Here the ultrasound had been done and the vet is inserting a needle to find the absess (which he did) |

Don't worry, Leo is sedated and isn't feeling a thing. The vet is performing surgery to remove both absesses from his chest. He left a drain in the incision and we will have to wash it out every day and give Leo antibiotics for a week to make sure all the infection is gone and no new pockets form. Finally, he can walk without pain in his chest (except for the incision). |

This is Lil Giz, who was in the procedure bay next to Leo. He has been sedated and has had his privates cleaned (something you have to do with a gelding occasionally). Look at his back legs. Kind of reminds you of a scene from Cat Ballou. |

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
