Finally, we got some rain. We are experiencing a severe drought and we got a huge thunderstorm last night with almost 2" of rain. Of course, all the horses took advantage of the mud and rolled in it. Here's Leo with his new mud coat. He hurt himself so he's been kept in a paddock by himself to keep him quiet. His whole left leg and shoulder has been very swollen and he can hardly walk. We took him to the vet to see what was wrong and they couldn't find anything so we've been giving him pain killers and antibiotics. Today the swelling has gone down and he doesn't seem to be in as much pain and, of course, he wants to be out in the pasture with everyone else. He's been having a fit because he's all by himself. |

Blondie is losing her baby coat. It looks like she has dirt on her face and her chest and legs but it's new hair. Her mane is still growing in blonde so we're not sure what she will turn out to be. Her sire is a buckskin and the new hair is a buckskin color. She's grown so much it's hard to believe she was born only a month and a half ago. |

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
