March 30, 2008It's spring and babies abound. Here are two Bluebird babies waiting to be fed. While I was taking this picture the male buzzed me until I walked away and then both the male and female continued their feeding of the babies. You can see just a hint of blue on the right side of one chick. I was worried that some other bird had destroyed the Bluebird eggs and layed one of it's own because I could see the parents feeding the babies but I couldn't see any blue. |

More babies! I thought the skunk we found in the barn had killed some of my hens but this one was hiding with her eggs. She has 11 babies. Unfortunately, the red tailed hawks, snakes and skunks living in the area make surviving difficult for chicks. Apparently everyone likes chicken. ![]() |

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
