We haven't gotten over losing Kit and her colt but we're finally feeling a little better especially since we have the little filly around. We were calling her Missy but that didn't feel right so her name, for now, is Blondie. She is very athletic - she lopes around the pasture (keeping her mother in view at all times) and then falls down and sleeps for 10 minutes, gets up and does it all over again.

Leo has a great time playing with the geldings next door. He came back with his face all skinned up but he keeps going back for more. Nobody here (all mares) will play with him so he has to play over the fence. |

Time to get hay again. We are still in a drought so hay has gotten very expensive. This hay was just baled the morning we loaded it so it's nice and fresh. We got 170 bales from a local grower and hopefully it will hold us through the summer. We still have plenty of pasture as you can see from the top picture but it's drying up fast |

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
