October 15, 2005My friend, Mary, and I went to a "Driving Event" at a nearby ranch and training facility, Proud Meadows, where competitors drove a defined course for points. This is Rondo, the most beautiful horse I've ever seen. He's a Black Forest breed from Germany. He's also the only Black Forest stallion in the United States and lives at Proud Meadows.

Rondo's getting a shower after his performance (above). His mane is tied together to keep it out of the way. |

Any horse enthusiast would give their right eye for an arena like this. It's covered so you can use it during any weather, lighted so you can use it at night and has mirrors on the far end so you can check your posture and position in the saddle. It has a soft floor to save your horses feet (and doesn't hurt so bad if you fall off). Behind the camera is a viewing area with leather couches, air conditioning and offices. Perfect... |

A barn to die for.
...I think I'll buy a lottery ticket so I can have a barn like this. |

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
