October 2, 2005It's dinner time and Mystyk and Leo are waiting to be fed. We feed every evening at 5:30 and the horses start gathering between 5:00 and 5:15. I don't know how they tell time, but they know when it's dinner time. As you can see, they're not starving but they think they are. |

Katy has decided that she won't wait any longer. Here she is opening the gate herself. I don't know if it is the change in the season or if it is a new supplement we're giving her to strengthen her hooves, but she has turned a beautiful copper color (very desirable in a Palomino). Katy's about 4 months pregnant and will foal sometime in May. |

Leo's face is looking really good considering what happened to him last December. He may not have a beautiful face (on the right side only) but he's the sweetest colt you'll ever meet. He's been handled so much since the accident, he thinks he's a dog. Here, he's aggravated because I'm making him wait for dinner to take his picture but he's not doing anything aggressive or giving me warnings (by pinning his ears back, a sure sign a horse is going to bite or kick you). |

Our blog (a web log or sort of online diary) is maintained by chief stall mucker, poop picker-upper and all around slave to the animals,
Norma Epstein.
I write it all myself (no Pulitzer or accolades necessary) and I take all the pictures with a Minolta digital camera.
I take pictures and post to the blog whenever I find something interesting or have something interesting to say (and even sometimes when I don't).
