The saddle has come back from the customer and adjustments have been made for a better fit. The next step is to design the skirting according to the customers' wants. This style is round skirting. You can see how the leather is moistened and blocked around the tree. |

The skirting is then removed from the tree. Normally, the rigging is put in place before the skirting comes off but, in this case, we are building a close contact Monty Foreman-style saddle which will have the spread rigging built into the skirting. A breast collar D-ring has been located and added and will be secured at a later date. |

The rigging location is identified and a hole is cut in the forward section of the skirting for the girth rigging.
Then, a pattern is made for the rear rigging and skirting pocket which will hold the rear skirting in place. |
