Getting ready to start working on the seat. Before you can start working on the seat, the skirting is temporarily attached to the saddle so you can make your seat pattern. After the seat is done, the skirting will be removed so the sheepskin and saddle strings can be attached to the skirting. |

Here we are carefully designing and cutting a cardboard pattern for the seat. |

After the pattern is made, it is transferred to leather and the leather seat is cut out. |

After we are sure the seat fits properly, a rope border is tooled around the edges to match the rest of the saddle. |

The saddle seat has been fitted and shaped and the cream cowhide seat insert is placed, centered and prepared for stitching.
