NEW! Saddlebag/pouch for your harness

All harnesses are custom made to your specifications and the measurements of your dog. We do not stock any harnesses for this reason. We have provided a link (if clicking on the "link" doesn't work, right click on the word "link" and choose to open or download to your computer) to a PDF document (click here for a free download if you need Adobe reader) with all the details of the necessary measurements to make the perfect harness for you and your dog. Click here for a price sheet.

Handles - Using the measurement page, you can determine how high you want your handle to be above your dogs back. This measurement depends on you and your dog's height. The harness to the left is the new generation harness with a folding handle. The handle can be covered with leather with a leather covered foam grip (as in the picture) to give a softer and more secure grip. We use 1" aircraft aluminum stock which eliminates handle twist and gives you a firmer handle.

Folding handles are made of lightweight aircraft aluminum which is machined to work without bolts. The fold-down part of the handle is pinned together to provide a pivoting point. All handles are interchangeable and can be easily moved from harness to harness. Two special alloy rectangular tubes are used to provide a secure locking device on both sides of the handle. They hold the handle in place when slid over the upright aluminum flat stock. To fold the handle down, you only have to slide the rectangular tubes up and the handle will fold down. There are no bolts to lose or replace. The slide are also leather covered.

Ergonomic handles are also available. See sizing chart for pricing of all harnessess and accessories.

A low back bone pressure  saddle is standard with the new generation harness.

Leather and straps. The leather we use is top grain cowhide which is flexible and long-lasting. Each leather part is hand cut and finished to your specifications to fit your dog. The M2 straps are being made by a company which specializes in orthopedic straps. The straps are very durable and come with special ratchet, quick-release buckles which allow for maximum adjustability. The use of these straps has allowed us to lighten the harness and eliminate the big, bulky buckles. Once your dog is fitted, the excess strap can be cut with scissors. Average weight of the standard folding handle harness is 2 pounds.

We have designed a new girth strap which provides better fit, comfort and keeps the harness in place. (see next picture)

Hardware - The buckles are specially designed to lay flat and eliminate bulk.

Linings - We use real 3/4"sheep's skin under the saddle and breastplate for several reasons. Real sheep's wool breathes, holds up very well, conforms or added comfort and is easily cleaned.

Fit - This is one of the most important parts of Circle E's harnesses. Every harness is custom made for your dog and you from your measurements. We have provided a link to a measurement page in PDF format (click here if you don't have Adobe Reader to view a PDF document) for you to use. All harnesses will be designed so there is lots of adjustment for growing dogs. Harnesses can be made with added adjustments so it will fit more than one size dog. The new M2 style harnesses come with three ratchet buckles so the girth can be adjusted from either side of the dog. The top breast plate straps come in either leather or nylon, your choice.

Click here to see the new backbone-relief design.

The new style three piece girth now comes with Y front straps to keep the girth centered and away from your dog's legs.

The girth has half inch foam covered with cream cowhide leather and provides better fit and more comfort for your dog.

This is the new chest plate. The design eliminates the bulky steel ring which is replaced with new orthopedic straps. Note: the upper straps are now leather or nylon per your choice.
The ratchet quick-release buckle. The harness design incorporates three adjustable ratcheting buckles with a quick-release button. These buckles are used only on the straps which need to be adjusted when fitting your dog.
